MUSIC COMMunity
Mosman High has a thriving music community where students can develop their musical talents as a member of our ensemble program. The Ensemble Program is open to all students and caters for the diversity of talent and musical interest. Whether you like to play an instrument, be part of a band or sing in a choir there is room to develop your music and performance skills.
The Music Ensembles Program is an extra-curricular activity that gives students the opportunity to extend their music skills and knowledge in an ensemble setting. The Ensembles are managed by the Music Administrator working with the Music Teachers. Parent volunteers support the Music Administrator with the management and operation of the Ensembles, including fee collection (Treasurer), event and fundraising activities to support the music program and music staff.
Professional conductors and school music teachers direct the ensembles which rehearse once a week usually before or after school.
We ask that every parent commits to volunteering to help. For at least one hour a term. The best way for families to assist iS via the fundraising initiatives such as sausage sizzles and logistics at concerts.
There are opportunities for parents to get involved with projects, fundraising and other support as needed. You can find out more details about the Ensembles Program on the Mosman High Music website or email mosmanhighmusic@gmail.com
FEES
Ensemble membership fees cover payment of ensemble directors, sheet music, competition fees and excursion costs such as replacement teachers and buses.
FUNDRAISING
A big part of the functioning of the Music Program is fundraising for the purchase of new instruments, enrichment opportunities for ensemble members, support the music curriculum and much more.
